Neapolis University Pafos in Cyprus, the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies at the University of Buckingham in the UK (BUCSIS) and UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage -related Activities, will be co-organising an intensive workshop in Security and Intelligence studies from April 15 to April 17, 2022.

The Chair participates with Assistant Professor Kalliopi Chainoglou, Professor Stavros Katsios and Dr. Ioannis Blatsos in the International symposium on Heritage due to be held on 13 May 2022 in Opole University, Poland.

The conference will feature academic papers as well as a series of selected panel discussions, PhD workshops and online satellite events on topical issues related to the 3 main themes: World Heritage Sites in a Changing World, Innovation in Tourism, Sustainable Development Goals

The Chair TCHER participated on 22nd January 2022 at the first UNESCO/EU Workshop on the Role of the Financial Sector in fighting illicit trafficking in cultural property.  

The 25-member UNESCO Group of the 1st Lyceum of Corfu, accompanied by the responsible cand. Dr. Christina Keramida Papadatou is on a four days trip visiting characteristic monuments and museums of Athens in the framework of the Research Program for the protection of the Tangible Cultural Heritage in Secondary Education (UNESCool).

The UNESCO Chair on "Threats to Cultural Heritage and to Cultural Heritage Related Activities" of the Ionian University and the Laboratory of Cultural and Historical Heritage Documentation of the Department of Archives, Librarianship and Museology of the Ionian University are organising at 18:00 in Amphitheater II, of the Ionian University, a one day conference on "Cultural heritage, refugees (...)

A programme for those who wish to acquire knowledge in the unlimited thematic of cultural heritage and culture through an interdisciplinary approach, to enhance their competitive abilities for examinations, participation in undergraduate or postgraduate programs, or for vocational retraining, and for those interested in the issues of cultural heritage, tourism and the threats and dangers they face.

On June 29, 2021, the UNESCO Directorate of Higher Education approved the establishment of the UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage-related Activities at the Ionian University and awarded the Chair to Professor Stavros Katsios.
