The UNESCO Chair team of scientists and experts seeks answers to questions about the nature, the complexity, the origins, and the perspective of current and future threats to cultural heritage and cultural heritage-related activities. The research is supported by the Laboratory of Geocultural Analyses (GEOLab), and it extends to every place around the world where research questions emerge.

The complex nature of these issues requires interdisciplinary research; accordingly, the UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage (TCHER) forges international collaborations among scientists and experts in a variety of disciplines.
