At the 12th Panionian Conference, that was held in Zante from 18 to 21 October 2023, Dr. Maritina Leontsini, PhD, Lecturer Harokopio University and NKUA, Mrs Athina Fatsea, PhD Candidate and Researcher, UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage-related Activities, Ionian University and Rigas Zafeiriou, Sustainable Food Systems Programme Manager, Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA), presented a research paper under the title "Branding Kythera. A Local Coalition for Adventure Tourism in the Island of Kythera and its Role in Shaping the Island’s Historic, Cultural, and Tourism Brand. A Contemporary Approach".
The institution of the Panionian Conferences was established in 1914 with the aim to research and study the life and culture of the Ionian Islands. The 12th Panionian Conference is under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
