On August 25, 2022, the Faculty of Economics and Business together with the Directorate of International Relations of the U. Andrés Bello , will hold the "International Seminar: Globalization and Global Competencies: New challenges for society in an environment of uncertainty".
The objective of the event was to present the experiences of experts in topics of global interest and the new challenges of developing global and intercultural competencies, and how future professionals must adapt to constantly changing conditions.
The first meeting of a cycle of three, featured the presentation of Fernando Reyes Matta , director of the Center for Latin American Studies on China CELC of the UNAB, former Ambassador of Chile in China (2006-2010) and Master of Arts from the University of Alcalá (Spain) in China and Society Studies.
In addition to his diplomatic role in China, Reyes Matta was an international adviser to President Ricardo Lagos (2000-2006), Ambassador to New Zealand (1997-2000), and Director of Cultural Affairs and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-1996). Likewise, he is the author of various publications, such as “China Innovation and Tradition: New State-Market-Society Relations”, and manager of the “Chile-China Seminar: Renewable Energies and Society: projections for the future”.
The first cycle featured an exhibition by Dr. Elena Avramidou , philosopher, UNESCO Chair Professor in Threats to Cultural Heritage, Ionian University, Greece. Likewise, Cultural and Educational Attaché at the Embassy of Greece in China and current member of the steering committee and the advisory committee of international cultural societies and foundations, she will present at the event organized by the FEN together with the Directorate of International Relations of the U. Andres Bello.
Avramidou additionally taught at Peking University for 15 years and served as Educational and Cultural Attaché at the Greek Embassy in China. Currently, she is a member of the steering committee and advisory committee of international cultural societies and foundations, and publishes in Greek, English, Spanish and Chinese.
